WT BIRKALLA 3 – ADELAIDE CITY 2
West Torrens Birkalla wonderful run continued at Jack Smith Park Saturday with a magnificent come from behind victory.
Birks went two nil down inside the first 30 minutes due to two defensive errors but immediately set about turning things around which started with a real opportunist goal from Paul Radice whose fabulous season continues. He’s become a real star of the NPL and a reliable goal scorer. On this occasion he outsprinted two of City’s defenders to win the ball in the box and slot it into the top corner.
Our recent Japanese signing Taro came off the bench and got onto the end of a free kick and headed home truly. He’s now scored in each of his appearances so he’s more than doing his job. When Ryan Kitto was brought down in the box JP Cirillo stepped up to take the penalty and give Birkala the lead 3-2. Our boys held on for one of the club’s best win in many seasons.
Paul Radice was named best player at the club presentations after the game with JP Cirillo second.
RESSIES SNATCH A GREAT WIN OVER PREVIOUSLY UNBEATEN CITY

The win that has been coming for a while now. The Reserves continued their good form from recent weeks only this week they were duly rewarded for their efforts.
Sam Shoemark was once again on the score sheet to give the Reserves a well deserved lead in the first half.
Adelaide City were given a mysterious penalty to equalize but the Birks were still playing well enough to retake the lead with a goal from Daniel Scorsonelli minutes from the end.
Best players were Michael Mangafakis, Daniel Scorsonelli and Jordan Maricic but it was a case of all played well.
UNDER 18’S GETTING STRONGER EACH WEEK
WT BIRKALLA 3 – ADELAIDE CITY 3
Our boys drew 3 all to grab a point but coach Jason Hayhurst thought we’d done enough to secure the win. His message after the game was his lads are getting stronger and were let down by a communication break down at the back that allowed City to equalise.
Big Hamish Anderson played at number 9 and did his job well whilst Luke Uzzell scored both goals to put him into double figures already which is a terrific effort. Connor Moss was named best again for Birks and must be leading the best and fairest at this stage of the season. Well done also to James Polli who was promoted to vice captain which didn’t distract him at all.
The big message from the coach is to keep working hard collectively and the wins will come .
Best : 3. Connor Moss 2. James Polli 1. Luke Uzzell
