WHITE CITY 2 – WT BIRKALLA 0
White City Woodville may be the bogey side for Birks.
Having knocked us out first round in the cup they beat our lads 2 nil at Frank Mitchell Park Saturday night.
Birks started well and totally dominated the first twenty minutes but in saying that, there were no serious shots on target at all.
The game took on a change when White City shut down Birkalla’s dangerous players in Ryan Kitto who found it difficult to get free and Paul Radice who found it hard to penetrate their defence.
City scored due to some sloppy defence and went into the break one up .
Shortly after half time Kurtis Rowe received a red card for his second yellow and it was tough going from then on.
The home side scored again outnumbering our lads up forward and they went onto record their second win of the season which dropped Birkalla to third on the ladder.

WHITE CITY 2 – WT BIRKALLA 2
It’s one of the oldest lessons in football – PLAY TO THE WHISTLE!
Daniel Scorsonelli put Birks one up before our boys conceded an equaliser with a soft goal which was awarded after a disputed penalty decision.
It’s the second time Daniel’s been asked to play in the defensive central midfield role and he handled it beautifully.
Sam Shoemark scored Birks’ second goal but we conceded an equaliser once again believing the White City player was offside. Everyone stopped including their players however the ref called play on and our keeper Nat Temby was left stranded in a one on one situation to leave it tied at 2 all.
Daniel Solari played very well in defence and is pushing his way back towards first team selection after missing the first half of the season with a knee injury.
Best : 3. Daniel Solari 2. Daniel Scorsonelli 1. Sam Shoemark

WHITE CITY 2 – WT BIRKALLA 3
Here’s how Coach Jason Hayhurst saw the win over White City ….
There is a pattern following with our 3-2-1 men of the match. It seems the same players are stepping up each week. We won 2-3 in the dying minute on Saturday. We won ugly you might say.
Across the squad we seem to have two distinctive type of players, those that are technically and tactically astute and those players that are robust and hardworking.
As we all know too well in a team sport environment both sets of players are needed to be successful. I believe the players are beginning to understand where they fit into the squad and the role they need to play.
This result will help us in the second half of the season, of this I am sure. We will certainly be looking for stronger performances.
